Forever 21 has customers up in arms over the company’s latest clothing controversy, with shoppers wondering: who signed off on a men’s T-shirt bearing the message, “Don’t say maybe if you want to say no”?
The company is selling the men’s shirt for $19.99 right now on its website, as well as in stores, Cosmopolitan points out.
Customers have been expressing their displeasure with Forever 21 since at least February, asking the retailer to pull it and questioning why Forever 21 made the decision to sell it in the first place, when the message seems to make light of rape, as Racked notes, or as one customer puts it, perpetuate rape culture.
We’ve reached out to Forever 21 and asked if the company plans to continue selling the shirt, as well as if it had any comment for customers upset by the shirt’s message. From what we can tell, there is no women’s version of the shirt.
