Do you want to go to church on Sundays but feel like the atmosphere isn’t enough like a sports bar? Then you might want to relocate to Birmingham, AL, where on Methodist church is partnering with a local Buffalo Wild Wings to hold Sunday morning services inside the chain eatery.
The Birmingham News reports that the Riverchase United Methodist Church has made a deal with an area BWW to open its doors early for services targeted to those who might be interested in a change of venue.
“We believe there’s a population that would attend a service there that wouldn’t go to a church,” the church’s minister of young adults explains. “We hope it’s going to be a more inviting atmosphere.”
While the restaurant won’t be open for business during the 45-minute service, both the church and the eatery are hoping that people will come for the prayer and stay for the hot wings.
“We’re going to encourage people to stay for lunch, stay for sports,” explains the minister, who says he’s already received quite a bit of interest in the service, especially from people who are already fans of the BWW. “This is part of the partnership. We’ll help them with their business because they’re helping us.”
