If you’re allergic to soy you might want to put that pretzel hot dog down — I know, it’s cruel, but really: The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection service says close to 1.2 million pounds of frozen pretzel hot dogs have been recalled by a food company for containing soy lecithin, common allergen, but not listing its presence on the boxes’ labels.

City Line Foods Manufacturing Co. in Lancaster, PA is recalling about 1,196,669 pounds of the product due to misbranding and undeclared allergens, the FSIS announced today.

The pretzel dogs were produced between Feb. 14, 2014 and Nov. 14, 2014, and were sold under various names (check the official release for more product boxes and labels):

• “Auntie Anne’s All Beef Classic Pretzel Dogs.

• “Auntie Anne’s Fundraising Pretzel Dogs.”

• “West Creek Black Angus Beef Pretzel Dogs.”

• “Kunzler Pretzel Dogs.”

• “Kunzler Turkey Pretzel Dogs.”

• “Berks All Beef Pretzel Franks.”

• “Nathan’s Famous Pretzel Dogs.”

• “City Line Foods Pretzel Dogs.”

The products subject to recall bear the establishment number “EST. or P-34073” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

FSIS says the issue was discovered during a routine labeling review, with inspectors finding a releasing agent used on contact surfaces during production contains soy lecithin, which was not noted on the product label.

To be clear, this does not affect Auntie Anne’s mall/airport pretzels sold at stores. So rest easy, weary travelers.

So far there have been no reports of illness or bad reactions due to eating these products, but anyone concerned about a health issue should contact a healthcare provider.
