You already have the private jet, the chalet in the Swiss Alps and a dog butler named Chauncy Ruffsworth to bring you gold-flaked cheese on platinum platters on whichever of the three yachts you’ve got waiting in only the fanciest of ports. What could you possibly need now? Presenting the latest addition in “What will rich people buy if given the chance”: A $4,000 toothbrush.
Yes, a brush for your teeth. That thing you stick in your mouth at least twice a day to shine your chompers, the tool that more often than not carries a faint film of toothpastes past.
Gizmodo has an extensive write-up of the Reinast Luxury Toothbrush, a hygiene tool that’s made to last for four years and is very definitely for the wealthiest of wealthy people.
“The type of client we have in mind and are currently selling to are those with an incredibly high net-worth. People who have their own yachts, people who have their own private jets—it’s for people who can spend this amount of money on a product they deem beautiful, Reinast’s Chief Technology Officer Dr. Djorde Djokovic told Gizmodo. “And one that doesn’t exist on the market elsewhere.”
Despite the toothbrush’s reputation as a throwaway consumer product, never to be thought of again once it’s been replaced by one of its many plastic brethren crowding the drug store shelves, the minds behind titanium brush explained that they wanted to create the opposite.
“Toothbrushes get thrown out all the time; we wanted to make something that was both enduring and luxurious. In addition to being functional, obviously. These are the goals we had in mind.”
Also, it costs $4,000 and is a toothbrush that will clean your teeth like all other toothbrushes, except that you spent $4,000 on it. Make sure to get one for Chauncy Ruffsworth too.
