If you’ve checked your Ticketmaster account today and noticed that all those free ticket vouchers and discount codes you received as part of the company’s recent settlement with customers have suddenly disappeared, you’re not alone. Ticketmaster says it’s made the codes unavailable while it works to finalize the list of events included in the discount code program.
Ticketmaster has now updated the page for the Schlesinger v. Ticketmaster settlement, adding a list of “eligible” events at venues owned and operated by Ticketmaster parent company Live Nation Entertainment. That list still has to be finalized, however, and in the meantime, Ticketmaster has removed codes from customer’s accounts… for the time being.
“At present we’re experiencing overwhelming load to our systems,” an error message in the “Active Vouchers” section of customers’ accounts reads. “Please sign up to receive periodic notifications by email. Thanks for your patience, we’ll be in touch as soon as possible.”
In a response to questions on Twitter about why the codes have disappeared, Ticketmaster said, “The event list should be up within the next 2 weeks. Until the list is finalized, unfortunately the codes won’t work or be available.”
That does make it a bit difficult for someone to get a ticket for tonight, June 21, to see, for example, Weezer and Panic! At The Disco in Raleigh, N.C. just one of many eligible events listed already.
We’ve reached out to Ticketmaster for more information and will update this post when we hear back.
