Usually the word “hot” in a fast food discussion pertains to how a customer wants their order to come out, but in the case of a customer whose truck caught fire while he was waiting in the Burger King drive-thru.
Though the driver was apparently unaware at first that his vehicle had turned into a flame-grilling station, another customer at the Massachusetts location alerted him that the car was on fire, reports WCVB.com.
The incident happened Sunday afternoon around 2:30 p.m., when officials say the truck suffered a mechanical failure and burst into flames, according to CBS Boston.Firefighters on the scene said the late-model Chevy was completely engulfed in flames and smoke when they arrived.
The fire was extinguished quickly and no human injuries were reported, but the fire spread to the exterior of the Burger King restaurant, causing about $20,000 in damage along the way.
