Just because you don’t think you’ll receive any help doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try. Because you never know who’s listening on Twitter, with the power to bring you your heart’s desire. In the case of a British teen stuck in a train lavatory without any much needed toilet paper, his tweeted please for help were heard by Virgin Trains’ social media team, and answered with real life customer service.

Like a baby bird warbling alone in his nest, the teen tweeted his distress at finding the loo paperless:

Quicker than quick, Virgin Trains’ Twitter account as on it.

He lets them know where he is, and is promised aid.

Aid arrived, with Adam tweeting proof of success:

Buzzfeed spoke to the teen about the December incident, which is just now making the Internet rounds. He said at first, he didn’t realize how dire the paper situation really was. He says after he got the tweet asking which carriage he was in and prompting him to check that from his throne — “this wasn’t awkward at all I swear” — he was met by a figure in black.

“I tweeted back with the carriage number and I shortly after I saw a guy looking quite worried in a full black suit carrying toilet roll, after the awkward exchange and smiles I grabbed it off him and finished what I started!”

Like any good consumer, there’s a lesson to be learned here, and Virgin Trains is teaching it — be prepared when you travel. Just in case your tweet isn’t heard.
