We’ve all been there: The parking lot is crowded, your errands are pressing, the day has been long and oh hallelujah, there it is, a parking spot that’s about to open up. So you wait, patiently. And then, right when you think everything isg king to work out and you’ll be sitting pretty any second, another car swoops in and asides into the spot destined for you. Sure, you’re probably going to be ticked off. But despite any negative feelings toward your fellow shopper at that moment, violence is never the answer.
Police in Lincoln, NE say one shopper’s parking rage got out of hand after she lost a spot to a couple shopping at Walmart, reports The Smoking Gun.
The couple pulled into a parking spot, telling police that they didn’t realize the other woman was waiting for it. They say the woman then pulled up next to them and called them “douche bags,” police reported.
The twosome say they ignored her and kept walking toward the store, and soon heard tires squealing, followed by the woman’s car speeding toward them, cops say. As the PT Cruiser turned in front of them, the woman was allegedly struck by the driver’s side mirror, knocking it off the car.
Meanwhile man alleges that the vehicle was “only inches” away from hitting him.
The couple reported the car’s license plate to the police, who caught up to the suspect. She allegedly confessed to the incident, saying “I did do it. I’m so, so scared.”
She allegedly said she was mad at the couple for stealing the spot and was “attempting to drive fast towards them to scare them.”
The suspect claimed she didn’t mean to hit anyone, and got scared when she realized she’d done so.
She was charged with two felonies, assault and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.
