Life comes at you fast and as a Baller, especially in the NFL, it comes at you even faster. No one knows this better than 23 year old NY Giants RB David Wilson who had to step away from his life long dream due to a neck injury.
Wilson, who was the New York Giants’ first-round pick in the 2012 NFL draft, made a very emotional farewell speech yesterday. Wilson was hurt back on October 6 after being tackled coming out of his own end zone in a home game against Philadelphia. On January 16th he had a fusion of the vertebrae performed to repair the herniated disc in his neck. The Giants feared that his neck injury could be career threatening and decided waived him.
“I don’t want anybody to feel sorry for me, or pity me,” said Wilson. “I lived my dream. A lot of people only get to dream their dream. I lived that dream.
